Dr. Smith
Erica - Office Manager/Level II Certified Dental Assistant
Erica attended Durham College and graduated with Honours as a Level II Dental Assistant in 1998. Erica is an active member of the Ontario Dental Assistants
Association (ODAA) and is dedicated to keeping her skills up to date with ongoing continuing education. Erica has been Dr. Smith’s assistant for all but her first year
following graduation when she gained experience in a general practice and an oral surgery office. In our office Erica also holds the title of Office Manager. Erica’s clinical and practice management knowledge combined with her friendly demeanor ensures that a relaxed environment is maintained for all.
Christine – Dental Hygienist
After graduating as a Preventive Dental Assistant in 1976, Christine decided to further her education and graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 1977. Christine worked in private practice and public health for several years before joining Dr. Smith’s team in 1990. Christine continues to provide up to date quality and compassionate dental hygiene care and keeps current with ongoing continuing education courses. She has also completed a continuing education course in orthodontics. Christine is registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO), is a member of the Ontario Dental Hygienists’ Association (ODHA) and the Durham Dental Hygienists’ Society (DDHS).
Jessica – Dental Hygienist
Jessica attended Algonquin College and graduated on the Dean’s List in 2004 as a Dental Hygienist. She joined our team shortly thereafter and has been providing quality, compassionate clinical care ever since. Jessica is an active member of the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO), the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA) and the Ontario Dental Hygienists’ Association (ODHA) and continually updates her education in her spare time. Jessica’s primary interest lies in our family oriented preventative practice by striving to improve the well being of our patients in a low stress clinical environment. She is always more than willing to help answer your questions about dental procedures, treatment options and proper oral health care.
Dr. Smith received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics (Dean's list) from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. Four years later, Dr. Smith graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, also from the University of Western Ontario. Since graduation, Dr. Smith has provided his dental care services in Oshawa, first as an associate in the office of Dr. John Hudson and since 1986 at our current location at 292 King Street West. Dr. Smith has always devoted considerable time to continuing education in order to provide the most current modalities of treatment to our patients. Since graduation, Dr. Smith has been a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), and the Durham Ontario Dental Society (DODS), the Toronto Implant and Aesthetic Study Club (TIASC) and the Toronto Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (TACD). Online affiliation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and Dental Implant Professionals.

Pauline – Dental Receptionist
Pauline graduated as a Dental Assistant in 1997 and worked with an amazing family practice for over 15 years as an Assistant Office Manager. Pauline has since been a part of several dental administration teams & for the past 3 years has found a new dental family at Dr. David Smith’s office. Pauline enjoys the daily challenges of making patients feel welcome and comfortable in our office. She is always available to help sort out treatment and financial questions from patients. Pauline loves to use her dental knowledge to make patients feel confident that their dental needs are being addressed with the upmost priority.
